Following planning approval being granted in September, Rotherham's 10-acre solar farm has now gone live! The solar farm, the first 50 kW solar farm in South Yorkshire, provides electricity to John Fillingham Services, with surplus electricity being fed back into the National Grid.
The solar farm includes 20 south-facing solar panels, which range in height from 0.9m (3ft) to 1.5m (5ft). It is shrouded by hedgerows, has very little reflectance and occupies a very small surface area, ensuring a project that produces clean, renewable energy whilst protecting the environment.
